Walk Talk Goal for the Week: Raise more money by holding an on-line campaign!

August 17, 2010

There are lots of easy ways to increase your Walk fundraising goals that don’t take a lot of your valuable time.  Try some of these tips for online fundraising!

  • Walk Central Personal Fundraising Pages make fundraising fun and easy! With one click you can send an e-mail to all your friends and family. Friends can visit your web page to read your story, join your team and make an online credit card donation toward your fundraising goal. Check your web page often to see who has supported you and how close you are to exceeding your goal (you’ll receive an e-mail notification of new donations as well)!
  • Send 10 online donation e-mails (the average online donation nationally is $62). TIP: Consider sending to Vendors, E-Mail Address Book, Friends, Family, Co-Workers.
  • Send thank you notes to those that donate.
  • Send more donation e-mails & Watch your fundraising thermometer rise!
  • Incentivize! Hold a raffle for anyone who raises $100 or more online. Give ½ day off to anyone who raises $250 or more online. Provide a prize to the walker who raises the most money online.

In addition to online fundraising, a great way to increase your team revenue is to think outside the box! A few examples of successful “other ways” are:

  • Send a sponsor letter to local businesses – offer them space on your t-shirt for a minimum donation!
  • Approach businesses you do business with and ask them to sell paper sneakers for you – Restaurants/Bars do a great job!
  • Matching gifts are a quick and sure way to DOUBLE your revenue – does your company have a matching gift policy?
Not sure? Visit our Employer Matching Gift Search page.
