I attended a seminar last month in which Jeanine Connolly informed us all of what we are doing right and what we are doing wrong when it comes to dealing with a diabetic child.
I had no idea. But her information and insight really helped us to understand the way a 5, 10, 15, or 20 year old might be dealing with diabetes on an emotional and physical level.
I only wish this seminar was available 5 years ago when my kid was first diagnosed. That said, Jeanine is a ray of light in a murky world for the families of the newly diagnosed Type I diabetic.
We should urge all of our new families to make a date to attend her workshops.
