National Diabetes Awareness Month a Success!

December 29, 2010

We would like to thank all of you who participated in and helped us complete a very successful National Diabetes Awareness Month campaign for 2010!

As Jeffrey Brewer, our President and CEO noted in a statement earlier this November, “National Diabetes Awareness Month is a time to bring attention to priority issues for those of us trying to bring about an end to type 1 diabetes.”

And that we did!

Throughout the country, chapters put a spotlight on type 1 diabetes, JDRF and the importance of research to help us continue to make improvements in the lives of people living with type 1 diabetes today as we work towards a cure. As a part of National Diabetes Awareness Month, the JDRF Greater Dallas Chapter hosted the Annual Mayor’s Passport to Health Community Luncheon at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.

Please take a moment to check out what other JDRF chapters around the country did to promote awareness in their area through JDRF’s dedicated web page, which recaps the wonderful efforts for National Diabetes Awareness Month. As you look across the map, these snapshots capture your dedication to let the general public see the bigger picture – research is necessary to deliver better treatments and eventually a cure for type 1 diabetes.
