Thank you to our JDRF Volunteers!

April 12, 2011

During National Volunteer Week April 10-16, 2011, we want to thank you all you do to support Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and the Greater Dallas Chapter. Your passion and dedication drives us toward our mission to find a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications. We appreciate your partnership and hard work, and know that together we can transform the lives of all people with diabetes.

Today, thanks to caring people like you, JDRF is the leading funder and advocate for type 1 diabetes research. Our research focuses on efforts to: 1) Stop type 1 diabetes or slow its progression in people who are newly diagnosed; 2) Reverse type 1 diabetes, and prevent or reverse its complications, for those who have lived with the disease for years; 3) Prevent type 1 diabetes in people at risk and in future generations; 4) Improve the treatment of type 1 diabetes and provide better tools to achieve tight blood glucose control for people at all stages of the disease. We would like to encourage you to read about two of our research initiatives in our Spring 2011 Research Snapshot.

From JDRF to you, this week and always, thank you!

JDRF was built on the concept that people passionate for a cure can make a real difference by giving their time and talent. Ultimately, it is our volunteers that sets JDRF’s tone and agenda.  This has been true since our founding in 1970 by the parents of children with type 1 diabetes, who were determined to find a cure for this disease. By placing our volunteers front and center, JDRF puts more money into research. We would love to talk with you about ways you can help. Call the JDRF Dallas office at (214) 373-9808 or email Your personal contribution can make a difference!
