New Features for Team JDRF

May 5, 2011

JDRF would like to announce that the Team JDRF homepage has undergone a complete overhaul with the opportunity to enter three different fundraising portals:

  • Team JDRF Community Events – the home of all community events
  • Team JDRF Challenge Events – perfect for your next endurance challenge
  • Team JDRF Tribute Pages – personal fundraising pages to support a life event

Team JDRF, our Community Events Program, has seen great success since its inaugural launch last July. More than $350,000 has been raised by almost 350 events. Thanks to the feedback, the Team JDRF Staff has learned a lot about the needs and enhancements for this program. Based on this input we have many improvements to Team JDRF, including the ability to customize the look and feel of the individual websites.

Now we are excited to announce some new opportunities within the Team JDRF program!

Train, Inspire and Cure with Team JDRF Challenge

This is it!  Your opportunity to change your life and the lives of others. Join the Team JDRF Challenge to improve your health, improve your time, run longer, run further – whatever your reason, when you cross that finish line you will have helped improve the lives of those living with diabetes!! Team JDRF will be there with you every step of the way. Team JDRF Challenge Events are designed to appeal to a growing interest in athletic and endurance events.  Everyone from the newbie runner to the experienced athlete can achieve their endurance goals while raising money for JDRF. The participant signs up for an existing local event (5K, half marathon, etc.) and then registers as a fundraiser with Team JDRF.

We have two programs to meet your individual training needs. Train with one of our groups or train on your own and either way you still have access to our virtual coaches, training resources and all of our fundraising tools and incentives! Don’t wait – make the commitment and change lives today! Get ready to train, inspire and cure!

Celebrate Life Events with Team JDRF Tribute Pages

Team JDRF Tribute Pages provide the perfect tool to turn a life celebration into a charitable opportunity. Honor a birthday, wedding, or anniversary, or memorialize a loved one by raising money to help make a difference in the lives and futures of people with type 1 diabetes through their own personal fundraising page.

These pages can be set up directly by the participant in a matter of minutes and is completely self service. The donations received on line are automatically acknowledged by an auto responder email. Create a tribute and invite others to view your personal page, make a donation and share their encouraging messages. Getting started is as easy as 1,2,3!

Celebrate Community with the Original Team JDRF

Team JDRF, benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, is a way for anyone and everyone to make a difference in the fight against type 1 diabetes. Whether it’s a walk, a bowl-a-thon, a lemonade stand, or whatever you dream up, Team JDRF pairs our families’ passions for the cure with grass-roots fundraising.

Small local events can be great ways to bring communities together, and the power of even a few people working together is undeniable. Also, service clubs, youth groups, and other organizations look for community service projects every year; why not combine their efforts with a proven winner in efficiency and results—JDRF?  Now, more than ever, we are at the threshold of advancements across all areas of diabetes research. We need the combined power of all JDRF events; every dollar makes a difference and no event is too small. Tell us about your event and get started today!
