Tell Your Story – Become Part of the Promise Community

July 26, 2011

The 2011-12 Promise to Remember Me Campaign has begun, and we are kicking things off with the launch of our new Promise website! The new and improved Campaign website is now even more exciting and engaging for JDRF Advocates.

As always, you can sign up to attend and coordinate meetings with your Members of Congress. But there is now so much more! You can become a part of the Promise online community by creating your own Promise profile. You can share that profile with your friends on Facebook, and you can even see who else joined the Campaign to help us reach our goal of 432 meetings!  Telling your stories of living with type 1 diabetes will serve as a critical link in our strategy to communicate to the FDA the urgent need to take action in helping to move the artificial pancreas project forward.

In addition to the online community, the Promise Campaign connects you with other advocates in your neighborhood. You can expand your network of support simply by attending meetings with other Advocates from your area.

Become a part of the Promise community by signing up on the new Campaign website, and remember, we need YOU for 432!  Take a minute to watch our CEO, Jeffrey Brewer, talk about our progress in working with the FDA, Pam’s testimony, and the importance of participating in the Promise Campaign:

 About the Promise Campaign

JDRF’s reputation as one of the most effective advocacy organizations in Washington is a direct result of the relationships our Advocates around the country have developed with their Members of Congress.

The Promise Campaign, which began in 2000, is all about building these relationships. Each Campaign has been more successful than the last. We are looking to again raise our visibility, reach, and effectiveness in 2011-2012 in an attempt to top the 431 meetings we completed during the last Campaign.  Families are encouraged to bring their children so lawmakers can hear first hand about living with type 1 diabetes. Your stories will motivate legislators to action. Take a minute to watch Promise Campaign Co-chair Mary Horn talk about why we need you for 432:
