School Walk to Cure Diabetes: Raise more towards your Family Walk Team Goal!

August 18, 2011

Would you like an easy way to help increase your family walk team totals??

With summer coming to an end and the start of the new school year upon us, this is a great time to talk to your child’s school about participating in JDRF’s Kids Walk to Cure Diabetes School Program! The Kids Walk program can be customized just for your school and has so many benefits for both you and the school. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to get your school involved!

Benefits to JDRF families include:

  • Your family walk team will be recognized/and credited with the total amount the school raises!  An average school walk raises $3,000!
  • We can schedule a walk anytime of year – it doesn’t have to be during “walk season”!
  • Students and staff can rally around your child!
  • Your child’s peers and teachers will have a better understanding of diabetes!
  • Your involvement in the Kids Walk can be as much or as little as you want!

Benefits to schools include:

  • The school receives 10% of the money raised!
  • Students will learn about diabetes and better understand what you child lives with!
  • The school can earn a customized JDRF banner that shows its accomplishment of kids helping kids!
  • Students can earn fun prizes!
  • The school has an opportunity to win an award for top Kids Walk at the JDRF Walk Awards Reception!
  • We provide a turn-key program that requires very little support from school staff – we do most of the work!

To participate in the Kids Walk Program or ask any questions, please contact Julie Dee at (214) 649-2986 or Julie will work with your school every step of the way to ensure a fun, successful Kids Walk at your child’s school!

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to raise your family walk team totals this year!!
