September 15, 2011

JDRF Greater Dallas is excited to share with you a new online resource from the Behavioral Diabetes Institute (BDI) in San Diego, CA for parents. In addition to services offered at their center in Southern California, BDI is also committed to providing online support resources. Visit their website to learn more.

Diabetes Etiquette for Parents: What your Teen would like you to know

Being a parent to a teen with diabetes can be a tough, frustrating job. You must walk a difficult path between taking good care of your teen while also encouraging independence. You need to care, but not care too much. This card provides 9 Etiquette Tips on how to talk with your teen.

We hope this resource will give you and your teen some new ideas about how to survive diabetes together. Let this be the start of a conversation, a new beginning for you and your teen.
