Tristan Biggs of Frisco was diagnosed with T1D at 4. He treasures his friendship with Drew Holder, 28, a former pro baseball player who was three when he was diagnosed. Tristan’s mom, Amy Biggs, says: “We feel God planned for Tristan and Drew to meet so they can have this special bond and teach others with diabetes to live life to the fullest.”

The article was published on November 1, 2011 in the Dallas Morning News and highlighted a sampling of our mentors and mentees for their great work and support for one another.

Our network of mentor families is about sharing, helping, listening, and forming new friendships with people who understand your fears, questions and even your tears.  This network operates through the Greater Dallas Chapter of JDRF, but is driven and coordinated by volunteers who have been where you are.

To request a mentor, please complete our Get Support form at the JDRF Dallas website.
