2012 Walk to Cure Diabetes | NEW Collin County Walk Site Change

February 16, 2012

Plans are well underway for this year’s Walk to Cure Diabetes for another fun and successful event. The Walk will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at two locations: Victory Plaza at American Airlines Center in Dallas (same as previous years) and our NEW Collin County Walk location at Oak Point Park in Plano (previously held at Granite Park).

Please be sure and save the date and make note of this year’s Walk site locations! We are excited to once again be at the beautiful Victory Plaza location and look forward to being at Oak Point Park this year in Plano.

Oak Point Park is a beautiful location and JDRF will feature the use of their amphitheater and wonderful concrete trails for our Collin County Walk route. We can’t wait for you to see it! In fact, you may be familiar with Oak Point Park since it is the home of the Plano Balloon Festival. It’s Plano’s largest park with over 800-acres of land and nature preserve.

We will be sure to keep you posted on all the details, but we wanted to let you know about this important Walk site change. In the meantime, we would like to thank Granite Park for their many years of support and generosity in hosting our growing Collin County Walk Site. They have been wonderful to work with over the years and an outstanding partner to JDRF and our mission to find a cure for diabetes. JDRF will forever be grateful for all that they have done for us and for those living with diabetes.

Many thanks and we look forward to another successful year!
