2012 Dream Gala | Fund A Cure Family & Corporate Research Evening
On Thursday, February 23, 2012, the JDRF Greater Dallas Chapter hosted its annual Fund A Cure Research Evening. JDRF would like to thank Allen Feltman & Dr. Arlene Jacobs for generously hosting the event in their home.
JDRF supporters attended and enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and a research presentation by Dr. Greg Clark about some exciting new progress being made in diabetes research.

Fund A Cure is an opportunity to make a donation that goes 100% directly to research and is 100% tax deductible.
This year, all Fund A Cure donations will help fund more Complications Prevention Research. The complications for type 1 and type 2 diabetes are the same. Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney failure, blindness, nerve damage, amputation, heart attack, stroke and pregnancy complications. People with diabetes are two to four times more likely to have a heart attack or stroke than people without the disease.
Despite significant advances in blood sugar (blood glucose) level monitoring and insulin therapy, people with diabetes spend significant portions of the day with too high levels of blood glucose, placing them at risk for the development of diabetes complications.
JDRF Complications Prevention Research focuses on ways to free people from the devastating long-term complications of diabetes. Eventually, thanks to research, it will be possible to prevent complications from ever taking hold in people with diabetes.
