Farewell to Tressa Thomas, after 7 years with JDRF

With great sadness, we announce that after 7-plus years of service to JDRF, Tressa Thomas, Outreach & Communications Director for the Greater Dallas Chapter, has decided to bid farewell to JDRF to focus on personal projects.

Tressa has been a tremendous leader building an extraordinary Outreach platform to reach newly diagnosed families in Dallas and outlying areas including Temple, Waco and Tyler. Her Outreach achievements also include an online support resource guide available on our website, outreach support for Spanish speakers, and providing outstanding support by phone and email always making each family a number one priority.

In addition to her magnificent leadership to the Walk to Cure Diabetes as the Family Teams and Collin County Walk Director, Tressa has worked across the board with each staff member and their events to coordinate involvement with our Youth Ambassadors. Over the past few years she developed an initiative to reach our friends and families through social media and played a crucial role as Staff Liaison to the ever-developing local STRIKEoutDiabetes event presented by the Barnes Family and Friends.

Tressa is an innovative leader with a caring heart who is a joy to be around. Although the Dallas Chapter staff and many JDRF friends and families are sad to see her go, we are excited for her to embark on a new adventure!

Moving forward, Tressa Thomas will be focusing on her photography business, Tressavent Photography, as a lifestyle and philanthropic portrait photographer serving Dallas, TX and surrounding areas. You can read more about Tressa and check out her galleries on her website.
